In a survey on media/sources of information―right after the earthquake disaster―newspaper was ranked first (86.2%), NHK ranked second (85.0%), and commercial TV Station ranked third (70.8%). The high reliability of the newspaper as a source of information is evident in terms of the increased importance in times of crisis as well.
